This monthly report provides analysis on major incidents that were reported during the month of August in PA controlled areas, Hamas controlled areas, and Israeli controlled areas. The overall security threat level has increased this month compared to previous months.
Tensions between Palestinians and ISF in Jerusalem increased during the month of August. Several attacks against ISF and Israeli settlers in the West Bank were also reported. In addition, two suicide attacks were reported in the Gaza Strip during the last week of the month, as well as increase in tensions between Israel and Hezbollah on the Israel-Lebanon border. This report also focuses on the current political situation in these areas, as well as bring attention to upcoming events that are expected to take place during the upcoming month.
The overall security threat level has increased during the month of August when compared to the previous month of July by 24%, since the total number of reported incidents increased from 200 to 248. As such, when looking closer at the numbers of reported incidents we see the following changes: clashes went up by 41.03%, arrest operations went up by 8.14%, and military operations increased by 33.33%.
