This monthly report provides analysis on major incidents that were reported during the month of January in PA controlled areas, Hamas controlled areas, and Israeli controlled areas. The overall security threat level has increased this month compared to the previous month of December.
This monthly report provides analysis on major incidents that were reported during the month of January in PA controlled areas, Hamas controlled areas, and Israeli controlled areas. The overall security threat level has increased this month compared to the previous month of December. In PA controlled areas, an Israeli settler was moderately injured in a stabbing attack carried out by a Palestinian near Kiryat Arba settlement on Jan. 18th. In Hamas controlled areas, on Jan. 5th and Jan. 19th, Israel opened one of the gates of its rainwater stores East of Gaza, allowing rainwater to flood large swathes of Palestinian land in eastern Jabalia and Beit Hanoun. In addition, in Israeli controlled areas, an attempted stabbing attack, carried out by a Palestinian woman, was reported at Damascus Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City on Jan. 18th. This report also focuses on the current political situation in these areas, as well as bringing attention to upcoming events that are expected to take place during the upcoming month.
