RedCrow Monthly Report June 2021
This monthly report is aimed at highlighting the major incidents that took place during the month of June of 2021. The overall security threat level this month has maintained its high status compared to the previous month.
During this month, the security threat level has remained high in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip, as protests, and demonstrations increased in Beita in rejection of the establishment of an Israeli settlement outpost on Mount Sobeih, of which the lands belong to Palestinians of the villages of Beita, Qabalan, and Yutma. On June 24th, opposition activist and legislative council candidate Nizar Banat was killed during an arrest operation by PA security forces, causing outrage among Palestinians and sparked protests in Hebron, Ramallah, Nablus and Bethlehem, of which the most violent were in Ramallah. According to observers the situation in Gaza portends an escalation as the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli government seems to be on the verge of collapsing. This report also focuses on the current political situation, and the developments that have unfolded in that regard this month.
